God’s love is a daily gift that I am so thankful for and love the opportunity to share whenever possible. Entering a grocery store during the week of Valentines Day, I am bombarded by balloons, candies, and hearts of all kinds. Looking to purchase something from the bakery for our small group, I was praying about what could I say to someone to bring up the gospel. As I was picking out a cake, I noticed one of the bakers to my right, behind the counter working on cutting chocolates to prepare a Valentines tray. After complimenting her on her work, a question that I asked her, that I credit to the Holy Spirit, was ‘What is the greatest example of love that you have experienced?’ She shared that she loved creating art in her baking and gift preparation. I took this opportunity to share with her that God’s demonstration of love by sending His son Jesus to die for my sins, was the greatest love I had experienced. This allowed me to share the gospel with her and ask about her relationship with Jesus. She commented she had some church background and had heard the gospel and was appreciative of me sharing with her. I left, praying and thanking God for giving me a creative question based on the current holiday to introduce the gospel to someone. This opportunity reminds me to ask God for help anytime and anywhere and He will always come through because He wants everyone to hear the gospel message.
II Corinthians 5:20 says “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
