I am always in awe of how God answers prayer, especially when it involves unscheduled encounters to share the gospel. I had asked God to provide me an opportunity to share the gospel today and He answered. I entered the gym early, getting ready to play pickleball but no one was present and the nets had not been set up yet. A young man from South Africa was practicing his 3 point shot by himself so I went over, introduced myself, and rebounded for him. After a few minutes I asked if he played on a team and he responded that he played for the same school where my son teaches. After we talked a few minutes, I asked if he knew what happens to people when they die? He responded he was a muslim so I asked how a muslim would obtain eternal life. He was not sure so I proceeded to share the gospel with him of which he was only faintly familiar. After a great conversation he had to leave but wanted think about what I had shared and I encouraged him to contact the school principal who is a Christian and a good friend of mine who could give him some material and a bible to help him explore the Christian faith. What a good God we serve who wants all people to come to the knowledge of Him and be reconciled to Him through the sacrifice of His Son.
II Corinthians 5:18 “All of this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”
